Adding a new bed - hope to disguise the well pipe and as an added bonus, a garden in this area may make the shed recede into the background. Hauled rocks yesterday and outlined the shape. Next I am going to lay some newspapers and then top with mulch to kill off the grass. I have plenty of perennials to divide and plant in this area - mostly coneflowers, coreopsis, asters. In this bed I already planted the White Swan and Harvest Moon Coneflowers I picked up for 30% off at Dambly's.

Heuchereras quickly becoming my favorite plant for shade. Amazing colors and textures give an infusion of color to the hosta beds. Pictured above is Heucherella Stoplight, Heuchera Peach Flambe', and Heuchera Dale's Strain. Will plant tomorrow in Simba's Garden.

I am adding to my Peach-Leaved Bellflowers with the addition of Cherry Bells, Blue and White Clips, and Campanula Bernice. Hoping for some additional blooms in the shade of the Woodland Garden.

Lots of rain last month left the garden and weeds plenty of time to grow. Here are a few pictures. Doesn't look like all the clematis vines I potted up at the end of last season survived. The 3 in the ground faired much better.
